Hi,

I am Dr Preethi Sundararaman, a dentist by profession and an artist by passion. I have been running a handmade jewelry brand since 2013 and I specialize in making customized jewelry. I try to give my full potential and love when I make any art work so that every piece of my work has a part of me in it.
I will be happy to be a part of the DT team and my special areas of interest will be paper based jewelry coupled with resin work. Resin work is addictive so when I start making resin jewelry, I forget everything and pile up a lot of pending work 😀
“Thankyou Preethi for joining us as DT here at madrasbazaar.”

Hi all… Krithika Saravanan here from Chennai.. I’m an MBA graduate worked as a recruitment consultant, quit the job to take care of my son being a typical mom… Back in school I was interested in hand embroidery but  lost in touch with that due to various reasons… it was my mom who gave that push to restart my passion and from there its goin on till now.  I’m damn sure I got the crafting DNA from my mom. Based on what I know I started my page a couple of years  just to share my creations and slowly with all the love and support from my family and friends it turned out to be my career . I started it with quilling, then tried silk thread, terracota and now got addicted to resin… I always like to experiment and I want my creations to be unique and colorful… I hope this continues forever….
“Thankyou Krithika for joining us as DT here at madrasbazaar.”
Third DT for Madrasbaazaar is :

I have been crafting  for the past 5 years. Crafting is like meditation for me, it gives me peace and calmness. I love experimenting and exploring  and making something new everytime. Scrapbook, mix media , miniature layout , 3D structure, flower making , decoupage and soap making are few of the areas that i have worked on. I loved drawing and colouring as a child and always won the drawing compilation in school. But i bever knew that i could actually become a full time crafter and make it a profession. I have completed my LLB and became a lawyer because that is what my dad wanted me to be, but currently i am working as a crafter because that is what i wanted to be and it is something that makes me happy  :). All i wanted to be when i grew up was happy so i chose to be a CRAFTER.
“Thankyou Roshni for joining us as DT here at madrasbazaar.”

And last but not the least, we have….

Resin Fridge Magnets

Hello everyone,

I am back with my second project for this month.

How about some resin fridge magnets this time?1

Let me show you how I made it.

Materials used are sourced from Madras bazaar.

  • Varnish your sticker or whatever paper cutouts you are using. Here I have drawn Nemo(fish) and grass and painted with acrylic colours.

11

  • Mix Resin and hardner in 10:4 ration in a measuring cup with the help of spatula and let it sit for 10mins.

10

Pour Resin into the mold such that it’s half filled

98

  • Now insert your embedments in resin. Here I have placed fish and grass up side down in one and cycle metal charm in other. Make sure fish and grass stays to the bottom and do not float.

7

6

  • Let it sit for 2-3 hours after that sprinkle some confetti.

5

  • Mix fresh batch of resin and hardner and add inks to it. I have mixed yellow and teal in two separate cups.

4

  • Let it sit for 1 hour and then pour it on previously poured resin and allow it to cure for atleast 12-14 hours.

3

2

  • Pop it out from molds. Stick magnets on back side and your magnets are ready. You can make personalised magnets too. So what are you waiting for…make your own cute fridge magnets.

Check the Tutorial Video

Happy crafting 😊

Love,

Mrinaal.

so if u liked it , then lets check out its tutorial :

PICTORIAL : #longpostalert

IMG_5537.JPG
i have taken the box and stuck the paper to it (used linen paper )

IMG_5538.JPG
similarly measured the other parts and stuck them too . stuck the top too similarly

IMG_5540.JPG
here is the finished look after attaching the paper

IMG_5541.JPG

used the trim and tacky tape to secure it in place

IMG_5545.JPG

these were my focus element , the heart i painted in gold .

6

added the connected pearl string over a white satin ribbon.

IMG_5546.JPG

i placed the chippie to the corner of the dome (for no just making the placement)

IMG_5548.JPG

used flowers from my stash and also added a ring embellishment
and stuck them with the glue gun

IMG_5662.JPG
i then poured loads of sequen to the center of the chippiee

IMG_5658.JPG
then using the glue gun stuck the dome using glue gun and covered the edge with the pearl string again

IMG_5566.JPG
later used the trim to create this broach out of paper and a quote from the                                              same paper pack and made a circular card for its base which fits the box.

IMG_5568.JPG
i used a fabric flowers and a few other flowers and used the sequins to decorate the card .

IMG_5569.JPG
so finally we r done !

hope u enjoyed the tutorial 🙂
(though i know it was a super long post )

Welcome Designers!!!

Hello lovelies!
I, Manisha Bisani owner of Madrasbazaar , and i am here today to introduce our Designers with you all.

we are overwhelmed with the Design Team call..that we posted recently and really thrilled so many of you, lovely and talented crafters responded to us.But out of so many requests, we could only select a few.. for month May-July.
But we are surely to pick up in the coming days.. so stay tuned with us for our next GDT call!!!

Now it’s time to welcome our sweet and talented Guest Design team members and our Blog coordinator:

meena herale

Hi, I’m Meena from India. I’m a differently able person (bedridden from past 10years). I have started doing Art and Craft from childhood as a hobby. I got interested in this by seeing my aunties.
When I was diagnosed with Spinal muscular atrophy type 2 when I was 12years old my life stopped there because this disease has no cure. I was broken and my all dreams was also broken, at that time I didn’t know what to do and how to come out of that. At that time my mom pushed me completely into the craft world. I did one year course in art and craft. I wanted to learn more in craft but no one was ready to teach me because I was differently able person, but I never gave up. I learnt everything from YouTube and from books.
I took my hobby as my professional from year 1999. I make fun fold cards, watercolouring, mixed media, DIY, altered work, scrapbook layout, hand embroidery, soft toys, decoupage, etc. I started blogging from February 2016. I don’t have any particular style. I love working on every style and try new techniques and things.
To me crafting is everything because through this I see outer world and can keep in touch with them. It is the only one thing which makes me to forget my disease and worries.

“Thankyou Meena for joining us here at madrasbazaar.”

First we have with us…
